Hall Steps Foundation

This past weekend while walking out of the R.E.I. in Dallas with Stephen, I noticed a free running magazine Competitor which I picked up. On the cover was Ryan and Sara Hall; Ryan was the first American to break an hour for the half marathon and is the fastest American-born marathoner ever at 2:06:43 while Sara is one of the top American 1,500 meter runners. These two famous runners decided that they had a responsibility to give back, so together they founded the Hall Steps Foundation, which, “aims to empower the running community to use the energy and resources that fuel runners’ athletic achievements for social justice efforts. Currently in its first year of operation, the Steps Foundation funds initiatives that tackle structural causes of poverty such as chronic lack of access to basic entitlements including clean water, shelter and physical security. Specifically, Steps partners with leading international and local nonprofits in Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia to fund projects that invest in sustainable methods of enhancing access to basic essentials.”

Their goal right now is to raise 26.2 million in order to fund a hospital in Kenya’s Rift Valley. For more on this goal, click HERE.

To help, you can donate to the foundation or become an Ambassador.
